First Flight (Frigid Flight) Report: Thirteen intrepid souls rang in the New Year by braving the cold for Stetson’s First Flight of the year, undeterred by temperatures of –17°C as they competed for first-flight honours.
Dave Rees (with elbows up) claimed first place, followed closely by Nigel Chippindale in second. Both pilots received trophies and $25 GH gift certificates in recognition of their skill and determination.
Despite frozen fingers and reluctant batteries, participants managed multiple flights throughout the morning. The winter shelter, propane heater, donut holes, and hot coffee helped keep spirits high and fueled lively discussions on all things RC. Thanks to Andy for the gift certificates, helping out, and keeping everyone behaving.
